Stroud’s own Anna Goldsmith loves to sing and create music.

If you ask the 15-year-old what she wants to do in the future, without hesitation, she says, “I want to be a singer.”

“I know, that’s a pretty vague response,” she giggles, “but when I get up on stage, it’s that feeling like you’re in it, and you love it, and you don’t want to do anything else.”

The awesome news is that Anna is following that feeling.

Having been classically trained since she was nine, she moved into a more pop genre a few years ago, and it’s paying off.

The Innisfil teen has released her latest single “Follower,” which is already gaining some big momentum.

She recently joined forces with ‘BluePurple Records’ to create the song, which Anna says is all about finding your voice.

“I was brainstorming song ideas, and then I realized that I struggled to find my voice when I was a younger kid, which doesn’t feel good. So that inspired me to write ‘Follower,’ so other people could find their voice maybe when I couldn’t.” she explains.

Once recorded, Goldsmith got to work on a video for ‘Follower,’ which she describes as a ‘ton of fun.’

“It was shot in Vaughan, Ontario, near a painted wall,” she describes. At one point, the videographer told me to do a bunch of ‘Anna’ stuff, so I started jumping around and being crazy. So a lot of the video is me just doing ‘Anna’ stuff!”

‘Follower’ is not her first single, however. A few years prior, she wrote and recorded a song called ‘Shine’ for a short film called ‘Sara Snow and the Seven Dancers.’

“My friend wrote the short film, a spin-off of Snow White. It’s about Sarah Snow trying to find herself in the ballet world and trying to express herself through dance,” she recalls.

“So I wrote the song ‘Shine,’ which is about how you can find your inner sparkle if you try your best and set your mind to it.”

Regarding support for her dreams, Anna says she has amazing people around her.

“I had so much support! My parents and my publicist have all been amazing! My friends are so great, they all listen to my music, and they’ll get me listens on Spotify. I’m so happy about the support I’m getting from everyone!”

As for future projects, the bubbly teen is hitting the studio again.

“I’m working on creating an album I’m excited about right now! It’s like a pop-rock album, more like mellow genre, she explains.”
